Terms of Service
Applies to the Hobo Network — HoboStreamer.com, hobo.tools, hobo.quest · Last updated: April 2026
Using the Hobo Network
By using any Hobo Network service — HoboStreamer, hobo.tools, hobo.quest, or any subdomain — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the services. Simple.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under 18, make sure you're allowed to use internet services in your jurisdiction.
The Actual Rules (It's a Short List)
We have three hard rules. That's it.
- No CSAM. Ever. Child sexual abuse material is illegal everywhere and will result in immediate permanent termination and reporting to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement. There is no exception, no warning, no appeal. This is a zero-tolerance hard line.
- No targeted harassment of real people. Don't run coordinated campaigns to threaten, intimidate, or harm specific real individuals. Opinions, criticism, roasting, debates, and being an asshole on the internet are fine. Targeted stalking, threats of violence, and doxxing are not.
- No deliberate copyright abuse. We respond to valid DMCA takedown notices. Repeatedly and knowingly streaming or uploading content you don't own will get your account terminated. See our DMCA policy for details.
That's the whole list. Everything else is generally fine.
What's Generally Fine
- Adult content between consenting adults (keep it legal)
- Profanity, crude humor, offensive jokes, and generally unfiltered internet culture
- Political speech, satire, criticism, parody
- Weird streams, niche content, unconventional creators
- Being controversial, having opinions people disagree with, making things that mainstream platforms won't host
Your Content
You own what you create and upload. We don't claim ownership of your streams, VODs, clips, or other content.
By uploading or streaming, you grant the Hobo Network a license to host, display, and make it accessible per the normal operation of the platform (e.g., serving your VOD to viewers). That's it — we don't sell your content, license it to third parties, or use it for anything weird.
You're responsible for your content. Don't upload stuff you don't have the right to upload.
Account Termination
We can terminate or suspend accounts that violate these terms. Given how short the list is, this should basically never happen unless you're actively doing something illegal or being a genuine creep toward real people.
Termination is most likely to happen for:
- CSAM (immediate, permanent, law enforcement notified)
- Repeat DMCA violations (see the DMCA policy)
- Targeted harassment campaigns against specific individuals
No Warranty / Availability
The Hobo Network is a community-driven project operated with no profit motive run on a shoestring. Services are provided as-is with no guarantees of uptime, reliability, or data preservation.
We are not currently a formally registered nonprofit organization. We operate this way by choice and intend to pursue formal 501(c)(3) status in the future — but right now we have no investors, no profit distributions, and everything collected goes toward keeping the servers on.
We're in active development. Things break. Data might get wiped during alpha/beta phases (we'll warn you when we can). Don't bet your business on our uptime.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or shut down any part of the platform at any time. If the whole thing goes down permanently, everything goes with it — we don't owe you data exports or compensation.
Not-for-Profit Path
The long-term goal is to turn the Hobo Network into a real not-for-profit / public-benefit project. The short-term reality is that servers, storage, domains, and bandwidth all cost money right now.
In plain English: support exists to keep the network online, improve the platform, and eventually fund the legal setup needed to formalize it properly.
No investors. No profit distributions. No bait-and-switch into a soulless ad machine. Just trying to build something useful and keep it alive long enough to make it official.
Copyright / DMCA
We respond to valid DMCA takedown notices. For the full process, requirements, and counter-notice info, see our DMCA & Copyright Policy.
Abusing the DMCA process to take down content you don't own is a violation of federal law (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)) and we reserve the right to ignore or push back on clearly bogus notices.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Washington, without regard to conflicts of law. Disputes would be handled in the federal or state courts located in Washington State.
If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms occasionally. If we make material changes, we'll announce it in Discord and/or post a notice on the site. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the updated terms.
We're not a corporation — we're not going to quietly slip in bullshit. If something changes, we'll say so.
